MacBook 11-inch Reviews

Thanks can you update the OP as more become available? I've been trying to find some official reviews the past few days

I wouldn't call any of the iPad reviews great.A good, 9.7" tablet at an Apple, i.e., premium, price.

Everything from Apple has a premium price, if you haven't figured that out yet, you should not be in the forum posting in these threads.
 
Just playing with my new 11.5 inch Air.

When i opened this up, like any Apple product, you can clearly see why the few extra dollars are well worth it compared to the POS PC market.

Hence the reviews were not 'great', they were a standard review of an Apple product, which was exactly my point. Thanks for your insight. :rolleyes:

Apple rates the battery life of the 11-inch MacBook Air at 5 hours, and we saw 5 hours and 18 minutes of runtime in our LAPTOP Battery Test (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi). This test is run with the display on 40 percent brightness, so you'll get less endurance if you have the screen on full brightness. The MacBook Air's battery life is good, but it trails similarly sized systems such as the Asus Eee PC 1215N (5:40), Alienware M11x (5:59), and Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T (5:53).

This makes me believe that Apple could have easily advertised the 11" to have 7 hours battery life under the old testing process. I guess all those extra batteries really make a difference. I wonder what you can get with lowest brightness and wifi off

What is the difference between an Asus laptop review and a Macbook Air review?

Apple products have a different review process? I don't get it.

I think I do get it, if they say the product is amazing and the best thing available, then it was an Apple review. If the product is sub-perfect and there are other quality products that can outperform an Apple version, it was a standard review not meant for Apple.

I get it now!

Apple talked about this on Wed. These are real life battery numbers for the Apple products. Alot of other companies do a 'best case' battery test, which gives long battery numbers, but only if you don't use wifi, or have the screen on.
 
I'm not familiar with any of those 3 PC laptops. However, i have read that users quote the M11X to have 7hrs battery life. I can see how that would be possible because these laptops are not tested in power saver mode. Apple i believed removed the better battery life mode that my old Mac used to have. 40% of brightness is about as low as some people can comfortably go.

It's 11.6", unless you took a power saw to it.

Anyone annoyed by the 11.6 screen aspect ratio. I am so used to the 16;10. That's what is keeping me from buying a 11.6 and instead getting the 13 inch.

I'm a registered subscriber with Consumer Reports. The iPhone, Macbook, iPod classic, Macbook Pro 13" all have "great" reviews. So I'm not sure what you're harping about?
