Mp3 Bookmarking app?

I have downloaded a pay version of a podcast but iTunes puts the podcast in the music section. So the ipod thinks its a song and does not save my place in the podcast if I respring the phone. This is annoying if I am an hour in.

Are their any apps that will play from my ipod library and save my spot?

If I was at home then I would convert it to an audio book but then I couldn't sync it from my work computer.
