My old G3 imac running Panther has developed the bad habit of 'losing' the connection. It'll be in the middle of the printing and it just stops. I've had it hooked to a hub, the keyboard hub, even the main one on the mac.

It seems to print great on the newer intel core duo Macbook running Leopard, also hooked up with the USB. Until you print color pix. Then it prints very dark. I have to lighten and lighten and lighten and it still it's not right.

It's an HP Photosmart 3745

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or either problem? I'd settle for it working on the macbook but it's crazy that it has a different problem for each. :(
