Hi all,

Using an 07/08 vintage MacBook, 2.2ghz Core2 Duo w/ 2g RAM, 10.5.8.

I installed XP SP2 on a 20ish gig partition when I first got the computer, have never had problems with it before--it always booted up.

I haven't used it in probably 6 months, and when I tried to boot it up today, it has failed every time. I am able to select my Windows partition when I start up the computer, the Windows XP logo and loading bar comes up, and then the screen goes black showing a mouse cursor; no further activity. I tried starting in Safe Mode and all the variants, and last known good settings--no dice.

I have not changed anything about the partition to my knowledge since the last time I was able to boot up in Windows.

I ran a repair on the partition from disk utility, which seemed to be executed without a problem; still not working.

Any tips on how to fix this? I searched around, but did not seem to find an answer. Thank you.
