2 Quick questions for a new user about finder and ram

Hello all,

Just bought my first MBP. 2010 15" i5. Love it so far; have 2 quick questions...

1. I want to upgrade to 8gb. I researched on here and saw that g.skill is good to go. But g.skill makes this ram....

and then they make a similar ram product that it says for mac

Is the 1st link that i posted good to go for a mac or should I go with the mac version (Thats 30 bucks more?!)

2. When it comes to setting the default view in finder....to set the view for ALL OF THE FOLDERS AND FILES, I make the changes and setting that I want, and I check "make default" but when I go to another window, its the old setting. How do I make them all look the same?

RAM is RAM, in Macs, using Mac certified RAM used to be relevant when PowerPC CPUs were used. Now a days, reputable and well known RAM OEM modules will work fine. G. Skill is one of them. Corsair, OCZ and Muskin being others.

Jeff,

I'm not sure what's going on however you have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support, this is as good a time as any to try it out. The phone number is in your manual.

You may have to repeat that setting for each new section or file you go into? If you go to system preferences, you may be able to find a way to set it for all from there. I am not at my mac right now so I can't give you specifics. Sorry.
