This is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Before I even use it.

It does not accept the product key provided in the box (ordered from amazon). I have tried virtually every possible misprint/mispelling of the product key... but the product key seems to be easy enough to read to me...

Microsoft's site has no support number listed. Microsoft assigns you installation a unique number, then does not accept it for help on the support site.

Office 2011, you are a steaming pile of crap, and it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another Microsoft product.

Death to microsoft!

So an individual registration issue makes an office suite a "steaming pile of crap"? :D

I just came here because by the title, I thought that it was warmer here, but this thread stinks.

You gotta be kidding me. Microsoft support is great. The telephone numbers are plastered all over the place. I've called them many times over the years and they have always been excellent.

If this was Apple you would have called by now, got it sorted and made a thread about how great Apple support is and how ****** Amazon is.

Perhaps the OP is call from an iPhone.
Any calls made from an iPhone to Microsoft are automatically redirected to the Movie Line

Microsoft does not have a support line open long enough. I am in Seattle Washington and by the time I get home, their support line is closed. WTH?

Anyway, for some reason re-entering the same key worked after reinstalling the app. Maybe microsoft's activation servers were down for a while or something.

My copy didn't come with a product key. It came with a pin that you enter on a certain Web site and get your product code. No problems for me.

Could this be one of those RTFM problems?

Nope, the installer specifically says that the product key is on the back of the DVD sleeve, which it is. No pin anywhere.

Although the microsoft website seems to reference a different type of box for some reason. I believe it is possible we have different types of packaging.

And its the costume makers fault this man is fat.

Wow. That is the complaint with it?

I've been using it since Beta and I love it. Man, Outlook is such a big improvement over Entourage. Glad to get rid of the purple too. The whole experience seems a lot more responsive which I'm grateful for.

I have the same problem. I ordered from Amazon as well. This is completely unacceptable. Now I know why it was cheaper lol
