iPhone can be charging but unable to sync

here is the question i facing.
i did a lot of research for this issue.
but didnt find a right way to solve it.
i plug to my pc, and it started to charge, but it cant sync, nothing appears.
it just charge.
by the way, i jailbreaked the phone, but i think it shouldnt be the problem.
what is wrong with my iphone 3g ?
does the "erase all contents and settings" help ?
i need the solution, urgents..
please. i need help.

if it is charging and not syncing it could be your data cable. I have some cables (OEM) that will charge and sync and I have one that is about 6ft long that will just charge.

try using a different cable or 3 to see if that makes a difference. do not use erase all settings this will not help you. it will just cause you to ask alot more questions when your phone doesnt work!!

if its charging its not the phone or the usb port on the computer in most cases.
 
i tried different cable and different pc.
it still cant sync.
do u have other way ?
 
try deleting your last couple of back ups. then go to cydia and get wifi sync and see if it syncs. worked for me. :)
