Since the recent reports have surfaced that Apple is not only delaying the white iPhone 4 until Spring 2011, but now has officially taken it off of it's website, I wanted to create a poll to see how many people will not buy an iPhone 4 this year. I know it's just a color, but some people won't buy an expensive product until they are 100% satisfied and color is an important factor. So let's see the results.

Have had the black one since launch, never wanted the white one. Think people are getting all in a tizzy over what color their phone is. iPhone 4 is an iPhone 4.

I bet it will have an internal antenna:eek:

I think it will too! Although that was never a concern for me. The phone part of the iPhone is the least used feature of mine. I only didn't upgrade because I choose to go every other year on my upgrades. I had the iPhone "classic", skipped the 3G and then got the 3GS. 3GS has been a wonderful phone for me and continues to be.

I bet it won't.

The external antenna was 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Apple will work towards erasing that '1 step back,' certainly. But they won't just give up on the advantages the external antenna offers. It has problems, yeah, but fixing those problems is better than just giving up on the whole thing.

EDIT: (And to be clear, I define "external" as "around the frame of the phone." It may not be uncovered to the human hand in the future, but even if it's covered in rubber it'll be "external" if it goes around the phone the same way it does now.)

I'm concerned I won't be able to upgrade to the 5 next year if I get the black one now.

I would have voted but my choice of bitch, moan and continue to start threads about it wasn't offered.

That was my strategy.

This thread wasn't to complain but more to see apples actual loss. I predict them losing out on about 1-2% of iPhone 4 sales strictly because white is not available.

iPhone 4 is already 4 months old. It's a thing in the past. iPhone 5 is coming. I would give about 6-7 months.

Of course not...
No carriers in US allow you to upgrade your phone after 6-7 months from your last upgrade.

There is nothing preventing you from upgrading your phone at anytime. Only factor that comes into play is just how much you will pay for that upgrade. Subsidized, partially subsidized or full price.

The only reason I would even upgrade next year is if the phone is redesigned. If I have to wait until this time next year (the 12 month point), I think I can handle it.

Pfft, only a colour? Half of Apple's attraction is that of colour and design, I wouldn't touch a lime green iPhone even if it had a built in teleporter.

Not true. I started my att account with the 3gs back in November 09 and was allowed to upgrade to the iphone 4 for two hundred dollars. It depends on whether you pay over a hundred dollars for your line.

I love my white 3GS. I got it in Dec 2009. I am waiting for the new phones next summer. Hopefully by then they will have a new white model with 64 GB. That would make me very happy! I've run out of space on my 32 GB 3GS.
