Hello.

I have a current generation white Macbook. Today I installed Windows XP for the first time via Boot camp.

After using Windows, I sent the laptop into hibernation. Now it won't turn on again. Nothing happens, no light, no sound, nothing. Just dead.

Is there anything I can do or should I try to sell it for parts. I cannot afford to get it fixed.

If it's less than a year old I'd take it to the Apple Store or the Mac Experience if you're in Indianapolis. Does anything light up on the Magsafe?

The light on the Magsafe is indeed turned on. And yes, I do live in Indy, in Pike Township.. but I do not have AppleCare. Isn't that required to have it fixed?

Windows XP is a common virus. Take it to the Apple Store.

A simple thing to try is take the battery out and unplug it and then pit it back in see if it boots.

I'd bet it's a problem with Windows hibernation. Try holding down the power button for about ten seconds to make sure the Macbook has been forced to power off fully. Then release it and try to turn it on again.

It's a longshot, but it's worth a try.
