What external HDD can you open up to use the 2.5" drive into a macbook pro? I'm looking for an upgrade to my current 250gbs, and I found a really cheap external HDD at walmart this morning at 750gbs, the enclosure seemed smaller then a desktop hdd, but I couldn't tell, is there any way to know?

Im not sure but I think the macbooks use a 2.5 inch drive. It would be better to just buy the drive instead of hoping the external hard drive is the right size and will even work. They are usually just normal drives in the enclosure but not always. Check newegg and amazon and you can probably find a normal laptop drive for the same price as the one you found.
