What is the best software for managing freelance design (graphic/logo, etc.) work? I am a single user, not a company, but I would still like a full-featured program that is very functional, simple to use but powerful, etc.

It really depends on what you aim to do with the software. Just billing, invoicing, quoting, estimates, time tracking, job tracking, project planning and management, etc.

I use Billings for my day to day project tracking, invoicing and reporting.
 
Take a look at Blinkbid (www.blinkbid.com). I've been using it in my freelance photography business for quite a long time. Highly recommend it as it not only includes the ability to quote/invoice/track, but also allows you to custom design a usage license.
