A friend installed the latest beta i think on my computer. there was no activation needed. However, i purchased a copy since i want it to be legal. I reinstalled it and it didn't ask for activation. I tried to look if its activated (can do it on office 2007) but couldn't find it anywhere.
I deleted the software and try to install it again - no results.
I also have Office 2008 on the system.
Any ideas?

How did you delete the software?

I installed Office 2011 yesterday. The process is done using an installer. After entering the serial number, it may be possible to avoid the activation step, but I see how. If you performed the installation while connected to the Internet, then you probably clicked through and performed the activation without realizing that you had done it.
