iPhone alarm bug - now in the uk

so last night uk clocks went back one hour. The alarm however didn't realise this and decided to sound one hour later than it's supposed
to. Good job it's a Sunday and not work! (unless
you work on Sunday in which case, too bad :p) I'm guessing this won't be fixed until 4.2 either considering our friends down under have survived with thi for a few weeks already. Ah well, nevermind.
 
Think we all need to set our alarms one hour earlier, bloody annoying when I'm on call and expected do changes from home in the wee small hours, just hope I remember to set the alarms to go off an hour earlier.

Can't see "Sorry I'm late, Apple don't seem to understand DST time changes" working as an excuse ;)

I'm going to look for a different alarm app to use in the meantime I think. saves the hassle of remembering. Actually now that I think about it will other alarm apps behave the same way? hmm
 
I've just tested this by setting a new alarm up and it went off at the correct time.

Is it only alarms that were set up before the clocks went back which are affected by this bug?

lol, now in the whole EU..
a few years ago, the time was changed at the end of september, but the UK petitioned to have it at the end of October, and we all joined the UK and changed the time the same day ;)

Can you set up a new alarm and let us know if it goes off at the correct time?
 
Just been testing alarms and it seems that the bug is only when you set a repeating alarm, as I usually do a different one for weekends and weekdays.

It seems to work fine with just a single alarm though.

Thanks, I've just tested repeat alarms and you are right.

Looks like setting my weekday alarm an hour early until they fix it.

I've just tried this on my brand new iPhone 4 and repeating alarms went off at the right time. Can anyone clarify the exact problem? I have to be up at 4:00am tomorrow and rely on my alarm to make sure I wake up!

They go off an hour late on my iPhone 4. Are you running iOS 4.1?
 
Not only alarm, time too...

My computer's clock automatically went back an hour last night.
My stereo did, my daughter's alarm clock did, my coffee maker did!

Not my iphone...

I liked it when it was miles ahead from everything else on the market, not sure I like when it's just an hour ahead...

The time changed on my iPhone. :confused:

Right now, if I set the time settings to automatic on my iphone 4 (IOS 4.1), it's proudly showing me 2:28! (time of the post 1:28)

So alarm problem + clock problem = won't use it to wake me tomorrow morning!
 
using 4.2 beta 3 i have just tested it on my iPhone 4..

only using a non-repeat alarm works with the current time

i couldn't even get a repeat alarm to work.. whether it was 1 hour earlier or 1 hour later than current time - this regardless of my clock settings being ON or OFF for "set automatically".

so it looks like i'm one step behind some of you guys on 4.1 who's repeat alarms will work if set an hour earlier!! :eek:
 
Alarm didn't go off this morning... I think lots of people will be late to work today. :p

We'll see if Apple releases an update before people in the US change their time.

Hello, since the clocks went back yesterday my iPhone 4 has changed the time back 1 hour to GMT, however, my alarm aren't as cooperative and insist on going off BST still. The alarms says 5.15am on Monday but didn't sound until 6.15am. N.B. I'm in the UK obviously and this is just for my alarms set in BST.

I took screen grabs but can't post here and apple don't allow for me to submit bugs. Hopefully someone here will get the word out.

I also just had the same problem this morning, nearly at work late!

It seems to be only for recurring alarms - and this bug did come up in NZ a few months ago when they changed their clocks for daylight saving.

A weird one, but I believe it has been addressed in 4.2 at present...
 
My wife's and I both use our iPhones as alarms, ours are both sounding alarms an hour late today.
