This is the first set I got. Simply would not stay flat on the edges.
I contacted SGP via email and they were very quick to ship out a replacement...

Here's my power support front for comparison.
So what should I do now? Ask for more replacements???

Edit: I've never had this problem with power support (or any other brand) and the only reason I didn't get Power Support to begin with is they weren't out yet.

I just don't see how that's possible. Are those people lying? Is there some secret trick to making them stay flat that I'm not aware of?

same problem

my screen front looks exactly the same wtf

how can people pairse sgp in this forum so much when their screen protector simply gets off at the edges power support is praised too but they seeme to forfill their promises

I only had the front on mine and it looked perfect. After using those, I bought these screen protectors on eBay from Sonix and they come with 2 front, 2 back, and 2 antiglare front for 9.99. I use them now and I like it better than SGP.

My SGP Oleo stick just fine, looks like nothing's even there. Not sure why some have problems and some don't, but I'm one of the ones that don't. I had a good experience, hence I'm praising them. Sorry some people are not having such a good experience, though.

Ditto. My SGP Oleos were just fine. But these products are just like anything out there. They will work for some people and they won't for others, nobody said the product (or the company) is perfect. This isn't a way to excuse them for a faulty product, bad customer service, etc. it's just the way things are.

Who said anything about SGP Oleo? This thread is about the SGP Ultra Crystal.
I start a thread about apples and you post about your oranges lol.

When someone mentions SGP as a company then it becomes relevant. Not to mention the difference between the Oleo and the Crystal is basically nil. Maybe it's something you should consider trying unless you're married to the Crystals

I bought the ultra crystal ex full body (w/o camera cutout) when it first came out. The front and back went on without any bubble / lift. But, last month, the front started showing lifted around the speaker and home button. Trying to press them out only made it worse. Then, I try using the spare that come with package. Same issue appeared. I wonder if the glue / sticking residue SGP uses dries up / evaporates overtime. Lucky, I had another front (w/ camera cutout) which came with my SGP Neo EX case. That one went on w/o any issue. Now, I am wondering if SGP changes the sticking material with camera cutout version or it's going to be the same later on. Through all this, the back I original installed is still perfect. After this experience, I am going to try Powersupport in the future.

Well I'm waiting to hear back from sgp. If they don't get back to me (which I'm sure they will) or don't resolve this, then I won't be trying anything from sgp. Why would I? Are you suggesting I just eat the cost of these and try one of their other products?

I'm providing an alternative based on my experience with a particular product. I'm not forcing you to buy something else from a company with which you're not happy and really, what you choose to do is inconsequential to me.

to be fair you dont own the actual product he is talking about lol.

i have had the EX and had exactly the same problems as this.

If it means there is a gamble that these might not work, id stay away from them and just get another brand. Its clear these SGP screen protectors have more problems than any other high end product on the market.

Actually I do own them (courtesy of the Neo Hybrid EX case) and they are being used by family members who have no issues. This again just illustrates the point that they work for some and not others.

I have tried numerous screen protectors from sgp, zagg etc and they are no better than the cheap ones on ebay.

I got a 4 pack of front and back for 1.50£ shipped had no problems installing them or no bubbles. You just have to find cheap ones that are good.

I have a Neo Hybrid EX case on order with them. How is yours?

I had the EXACT same problem with the SGP Crystal Clear front and backs (backs in particular). They were very prompt in sending a replacement but they suffered a similar issue. I switched to the Power Support Crystal Clear front and backs and the installation went perfectly. I am noticing after about three months of going in and out of my pocket they are showing some wear (scratches on the screen protectors at the edges).

Here is my opinion. I am a big SGP fan and have had great luck with them. Even so, I think they have messed up a bit with the Crystals. Compare an SGP Crystal to a PS Crystal. You will find the SGP to be thicker and harder. This is a new design for this year. It had merit but caused problems. I have had 4-5 crystals and noticed a few things. The original iPhone 4 Crystals had the issues you are showing above. I had issues getting them to stick and also scratching really easily. Since the originals came out, SGP has tried to remedy this with a much stronger adhesive. Its actually too strong and nearly impossible to apply correctly and get all the dust particles from underneath. The newer revised version will not peel or bubble. Even so, I think they have made the situation worse. The Oleo does not have this issue as it is still a fairly thin film.

This is not true, I have had both and for whatever reason the oleo's go and, and stick much better than then EX's

I had the same problem with mine.

It's a good case; slim and does the job. Like I said before a couple of my family members also have the case and are using the Crystals without problems but YRMV.

Just because you had a specific experience doesn't mean it's applicable to everybody else. If you'll read the earlier posts, I stated that my Oleophobic protectors were fine and I also have family who have no issues with the Crystals. Results will vary for everyone

my installation went without a hitch, however there was such a large difference in the feel of the protector that i ended up removing it a few days later. the sgp crystal would smear grease from even clean fingers and i was forever wiping the screen clean. it seemed to have a bit more friction than the phone's glass so glide or drag movements would make a squeak that i liken to fingers rubbing teeth. i hadn't heard mention of these issued before so i'm not sure if i'm an isolated case or what. a shame because the install was very easy and the protector did look good.

Just got my full body ultra clears in the mail today after a 40 day wait... messed up both installations for the front. Same issue as the thread starter. Sigh. Money wasted. Gonna try Zagg tomorrow.
