AT&T in New York

Hi can you please give your opinion on this...

I moved to NY last month and brought my UK unlocked iPhone 4.

I have purchased a sim and service from AT&T.

Now I know that they are not the best network but if I run the speedtest app I am getting:

ping 345
download 2.04
upload 0.92

This is in Williamsburg.

Yesterday around Manhattan I was getting 0.2 down and up.

Is this normal or does my phone need a carrier update to work correctly? O2 in the UK had about 2 down and 4 up if I remember correctly!

In Manhattan I get pretty good 3G speeds..this is around 59th street on west side.

I get good speed. Living uptown manhattan 207th street.

I get good speeds in New York. I can't remember what the exact speeds were, but I go to New York often and the speeds aren't terrible.

NYC is terrible. I work in the Times Square area. It's hit or miss here. The nicer the day (and hence the more tourists) the worse the connection. The days with the best most reliable connection has been on rainy days when there have been less tourists milling around.
