you can get a free month trial of prime or you can get a free year of prime if you're a student (or have an .edu email)

I've only ever bought refurbs and have never had a problem with any of them. They carry the same 1 year warranty as a brand new mbp. You can save some serious cash...
You are just very lucky. I normally received free shipping items in 4 or 5 days.You don't need "prime" to get it in two days.
Amazon ships all expensive electronic items via UPS or FedX two day shipping.
Just choose standard free shipping. My DSLR came two days UPS. Camera lens came via UPS in two days. Printer came via FedX in two days. All under standard free shipping.
