Is there necessity to upgrade ram from 4GB to 8GB for a macbook pro?

Already with core i 5 2.4GHZ processor, and Intel X 25 M SSD, should be fast enough.

What tasks are normally ram-consuming?
 
4gb should suffice, but if you ever feel that your running tasks are getting slower then just upgrade.
