I found a simple, (possibly already well known) way to get the latest graphics drivers for the 8600M GT. I downloaded the latest mobile drivers right from the Nvidia website (Driver version 260.99 -as of 11/3/2010-) I noticed something odd, when I looked at GPU-Z (under Windows 7, 32-bit), the card was clocked at 520 core, 650 memory, and 1040 shader. The core and shader clocks were higher clocked than the stock clocks of 475/1400/950. I was able to use nTune to overclock to 560 core, 850 memory, and 1140 shaders. I am curious if this is a one-off setting, or is this card actually clocked like this. (I have redone my computer setup, and am using a MBP 17" 2.4 SR, all stock hardware.) Also, it seems like the graphics card has not failed yet, and is still running well after 34 months. I have not pushed the overclocking of the graphics to the maximum yet, but it does not seem warmer when under load while overclocked in Windows. Also, is it possible that the clock speeds of the 8600M are higher in the 17", due to better thermal characteristics?
