These cars any good?

We've had them here in Japan for years, and truthfully the styling of the 2009+ models that you got back in the States is barftacular IMO...but I digress as it's not for me.

The lady expressed interest in one of these when we come to the States next year, and I was thinking it might not be a half bad car for her (truthfully I kind of like the interior myself). New/nearly new, warranty, decent price.

How are these cars? Any known engineering issues?

Anyone have one who can shed light on their thoughts? TIA.

If you're not coming until next year, why not wait to see what the offerings are then?

I like Nissan, I survived what should have been a crash leaving me disabled in one of their trucks. However, the Cube is not for me and as said before, they seem to have some issues.

It's good to remember that we have these:

rolling around here in the states so might want to look into getting something that won't implode if it gets hit by one of these going 5 mph. :p

Unless they're going to live very far away from any major city the last thing we need here is another woman driving a big ass gas-guzzling SUV. Of course now that fuel prices are going up again I can't wait for the look on people's faces when they have to put $80-100 into their gas tank on every fill up like they did a few years back at the last price spike. I remember pointing and laughing a lot.

And yes, I hate SUVs and pickup trucks with a passion. Some of the most awful drivers seem to be favoring these.

It costs me around $55 to fill up my Tahoe right now. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. I cannot stand sitting low to the ground and I love the room. With active fuel management I get around 21 mpg avg which isn't amazing but it's no H1 fuel mileage (or lack thereof). I guess it's to each their own because I cannot stand 'squito cars.

I'm a smaller car kind of guy (I enjoy throwing cars around corners), but I can't imagine that someone that buys a big SUV is going to be all that affected by gas prices. I doubt someone that spends $40K+ on a vehicle isn't going to be bothered by an extra few hundred a month in gas.

The thought of a no hesitation and to the point reply worries me to say the least. :p

A couple months back, I learned that our British friends have a different definition of the word 'growler' than we do. I believe their version can be applied to either of these two women. ;)

Gotta ask how this is possible? Tahoe tank is 26 gallons. 26 X 2.80 = $73

One of my vehicles is a Tundra and it's a good $70 to fill the tank on that one as well.

You're right it's closer to $65 then it is $55. I didn't even try to do math there. Gas here at my local station outside of Houston is $2.49 a gallon right now. Also I never ever empty my tank out all the way so I was guessing.

And only a bunch of middle-aged men who still think they're young and cool would think that these cube cars are cool. I'm not saying they're all bad cars, but there are a lot of great cars out there today that don't look so bad. Having said that, the Kia Soul is the least ugly box car.
