Right so i have bought a netgear dgn2200 wireless - N300 router, as well as a Vantec Nexstar LX ultra and installed a 2TB hdd into it.

basically i wanna set up a NAS so that all the computers on our network can assess the printer as well as a central storage for media documents, ect...

as the Vantec ultra has a built in media server it can connect to my PS3.

right so here are the problems.

ok so first off i copied across all my files to the NAS but for some reason i cant seem to access it on my mac (i have a macbook pro 15inch 2.4 Ghz i5) i can find it anywhere when it it plugged into the router. (however when i plug it in in conjunction with a usb cable it obviously appears on the desktop.) on one of our other computers (windows laptop) i can seem to access it but not all the files. only files in the specified folders but not the folders within the specified folder. i have the same problem with my PS3 can see the shared folder but not the folders within it, unless there is just a media file.

so i need to know how to assess it through my mac? or is there a reason that i cant see or assess it on my mac. and is there perhaps a way that i don't have to assess the files through the media server interface but treat it as a Ext HDD that is just attached to the network.

as i keep all my files in order and what not the media server cant open the folders within the shared video folder but as soon as there is just a plain video file the shared video folder it works.

i would just like everything to work like the companies say they would hahah.

sorry if i seem all over the place i am just wanna give all the info and get this all working.

so any help would be great.
