Okay, this is one nifty little app. Lets you use widescreen wallpapers for your background, and it scrolls along with swiping screens left and right. Pretty good app!

I couldn't find to many reviews on Simple Background and the few that I found, some said they had issues with 4.0 so decided to try out Parallax. So far, really nice app. Really liking this tweak.

Here's a few good walls for it:

where...

ok got it.
now where can we download widescreen wallpapers in HD for iphone 4??

What would be the appropriate dimensions?

Just put what you typed here in Google :). Seriously, there lots out there.

actually there isn't much out there at all for this. sure typing in those words in to google yielded results...but almost none fit the bill.

When i borrowed the dimensions from the example provided in a previous post...
5120x1024 then I was able to find a few more backgrounds...but certainly not very many.

Perhaps more will come out as the popularity of this grows.

Guys, the wallpapers don't have to be super wide like that. In fact, unless you have like 10 pages of apps, regular 16:10 wallpapers look the best.

In order for the parallax effect to work, the wallpapers need to be at least 960 or 480 pixels tall and wider than 640 or 320.

Here, just try this one:
http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/Daf856ef/02418_barmsee_1680x1050.jpg

I go on interfacelift.com on my iPhone and choose 1680x1050 because for some reason the larger ones scale down to 1280x800 and the size below 1680x1050 doesn't have enough vertical resolution for retina screens.

ok, got it.

google this

Dual Monitor Wallpaper

then filter 'large'

and you'll get a pretty good selection this way

LOL - considering it's free, it's just plain pathetic that you couldn't take a few seconds to try it out.

*facepalm*

Yeah, facepalming on the internet. You're soo cool. Free or not, I'm not installing anything that's been verified to have problems. Learned my lesson with Yourtube2. Happy with Parallax, definitely worth the $1.49.

My first thought when I sew Android for the first time in an early G1 review, was "Damn, I like that scrolling wallpaper thing".
It also has the added benefit of removing the gradient on the bottom half of the homescreen.
Just goes to prove that the best tweaks are the simple ones.

Not renaming the thread, for those who have the other, similar app, who would also be looking for wallpapers, would be more confusing, imo.
We don't want folks to have to resort to Android forums for wallpaper.

You can even be the thread starter, if you wish. :D

I downloaded this last night and it is a really nice feature on the retina display. Here is the image I was using, rolling plains. But for now, I'm using a video wallpaper that I made last night as well.
