How to make airport extreme broadcast n and g

So my setup is a airport extreme in my bedroom connected to my shaw interned modem, main airport. I bought another extreme, the newer dual band model to extend my wireless into my living room. Works fine no problem. I want then both on N 5gig speed.

The problem is I have a iphone 3gs, no N ability. Can the dualband extreme still put out N and G when im using it to extend my wireless????
 
Thanks for help, what i did so was set up both routers as primary and it seems to work. Well more than seems to its been working perfectly for a week now broadcasting 5g N speed and 2.4g G speed so my iphone can get some faster data speed when im at home.
