Hi,
So I'm about to purchase Ram from OWC.
My question is this.
They have the OWC branded 8gb ram from 160$ or the Crucial branded 8gb ram for 135$.
Is the OWC ram worth the extra 25$ or is it the exact same thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Crucial is fine. It's certified to work with Macs (assuming you select your system correctly) and they tend to be very good with swapping out the very rare bad sticks.

Awesome!
Thanks for the quick reply.

Actually my mistake.
It's not Crucial but NuRam for 137.99$
So what do you think?
Thanks

Crucial is a trusted name brand, and seeing as they are cheaper, I would go with them over the NuRAM. If you look on Buy.com though, you can find compatible memory from Kingston for $120 with free shipping.

I bought the NuRam from OWC at the beginning of October (paid $155) and it works like a charm.

BTW OWC is extremely reliable and stands behind all of their products. If they advertise it will work in your computer it will work. If it doesn't they'll make it right. And no I don't work for them, I'm just a satisfied customer.

FWIW, I've used Crucial for RAM upgrades since 2005. Fast shipping and no problems ( and I don't work for them). And I when I upgrade my macbook pro from 4 gig to 8 I'm likely to order from them again.

I've been debating the same thing. Advance replacement of the OWC might be worth it. Not sure...
