iOS Notification System....what's the deal?!!

Love iOS. Been with it since day 1, but I am so annoyed by this damn notification system. Sometimes, i want to pull my hair out.

When do YOU predict a change? Is it the next big thing to tackle for apple yet you think?
 
Apple has recently acquired a specialiast from Palm who focuses on notifications. I predict iOS 5.0 will hold some changes, although whether they are significant to an extent we expect, only time will tell.
 
Not before iOS5.

And probably not in iOS5, either.

I agree that some form of "passive notification" (i.e. flashing icon next to the clock) would be a very nice option.
 
It might be in iOS 5 if they can get it done in time otherwise it will probably change in iOS 6

Cool. The acquisition does give one the assumption Apple is planning to address this issue sooner rather than later. Sounds promising for 5.0.
