Bypassing MacBook Pro HD for videos on iPad?

I am planning on buying a few seasons of TV shows and a few movies to keep on the iPad when the 2nd one comes out. Although I have a 64GB iPod Touch already so I figure I'll just ask now and put them on there first. Can I put all these videos on an i-device without having to store them on my MBP's hard drive? Thanks!
