I just called AppleCare and had my iPhone 4 replacement shipped as an "advanced replacement". Are these phones usually new or refurbished? Thanks.

Mine was new, but it didn't change the fact that it was defective: bad display, uneven antenna - big gaps. It was replaced with a 5K phone, which is shiny and new. I think people should stop this 'I don't want a refurb' thing!
What's the matter?! Apple refurbs come in all new housing and function as good as (or even better) the new ones.

Re-read the post, please. I simply asked if phones shipped by "Apple Care Advanced Replacement" were new, or refurbished. Nowhere in my post did I complain.

And I told you it was new for me. But it was bad. Well, it was more than a month ago, so, probably, they're sending refurbs now.

Some people are still on crack in this thread. iPhone has been out for 5 months, they will send refurbished, period.

*cough*
I got that from you. Perhaps, sir, it is you that may be on the crack...

WOW! You can edit my post in order to come up with your own delirium! Bravo! If you could read properly, you would understand that the advanced replacement new phone (factory 88) was defective and later was replaced with a 5k phone, which was indeed shiny and new (figuratively speaking), because Apple change the housing, thus 5Ks look like new phones. Full stop.

As you see...you failed to explain that whole "figuratively speaking" thing the first time you said it was new. Read your post below (pasted in full) and tell me with conviction that the sentences you wrote are clear. "Mine was new, it was replaced with a 5K phone, which is new." Dont be mad, madKIR. Just take it as learning experience. Everyone gets one wrong sometimes.

Kind of. I just don't appreciate the implication of being a user of a certain Schedule I drug because I read something someone else misstated.

I got my phone and it's sorta old. It's a 5k (refurb), week 38.
