Dell and Alienware announced that they'll use the ATI 6870m and ATI 6970m in their laptops.

ATI can switch graphics too, so I'm sure Apple can make it work for OS X, just like they did for the 330m. ( they have enough time to work on it when Intel releases Sandy Bridge )

AFAIK Intel is actively working to prevent graphics switching with AMD cards.
don't think those alienwares graphics switching?

You do realise there are dozens of notebooks available that support graphics switching form Intel Corei to HD5XX0 AMD GPUs. It works perfectly.
Well known example Acer TimelineX.

For some reason most people act like Nvidia invented graphics switching with Optimus and still others many in this forum still believe Optimus has anything to do with Apples graphic switching. For the last time it is simple multiplexing based switching and has been around for a long time before Optimus and Apple
