long time lurker, first time post and desperate for help.
no experience with networking at all.
i have just bought atv2, but can't get any internet connection from my macbook.
i am using a 3g wireless usb connection, as i have only just bought a new house and don't have internet setup yet.
have setup network and atv finds it, but wont accept itunes acc/password and i am getting a 169 ip address in network settings when i go into 'airport network'
the atv is registering full signal, so it's a network problem for sure.
the light is orange when i go into preferences and look at airport and it reads self assigned ip address.
do i need to buy an airport express to setup a home network or what other options do i have.
possibly buy a 3g usb router and use that only for the ipad (which defeats buying 3g) and get full internet into the house (which i really dont want to do, as i'm not sure how long we will be staying here)
