I'm replacing a LCD for someone. The original is glossy Samsung LTN133AT02-001 and the replacement is matte LG LP133WX1 TL P2 (the claim was that it works with the mid 2009 Macbook). When I plug the new screen in, the backlight comes on, but that's about it. I don't see the boot screen or the OSX screen. I've checked to make sure that nothing on the system itself is damaged (the old screen is messed up, and it's not under warranty). I've attached the old screen for now, and it's working (though damaged) for the time being. Anyone have any advice on what else I can try?

either apple doesn't want you to swap screens, or there's something wrong with it. Have you checked it's edid? I had a replacement go bad due to improperly programmed edid at the factory.
