Different Weight of Font all show us as One-Regular

I'm installing a font and all the different versions of that font, for example the book, demi, regular versions are all listed as one version in OsX. In other words, I can't use any other version except the one version. I've replicated this in Adobe apps and also in Textedit. Anybody know how this could be fixed?
