Hi, i decided to give my macbook a clean re-install. i backed up my drive before doing so though. Anyhow, i want some apps on my macbook, and want to use the migrant assistant to get them apps back. the thing is, i do not want every single file on my macbook again. will migrate assistant bring EVERY single file? the reason why i gave it a clean reinstall was because it was pretty laggy, and now my macbook is back to being fast, just like when i first bought it. if i use migrant assistant will it make it go back to like i had it just a few hours ago (laggy). i tried bringing back the apps using time machine, but i kept getting some apps opening and saying that files where missing. i am assuming that if i use migrant assistant it will bring those files back, i just dont want other unnecessary files to tag along. uhmm, i think i used migrant assistant on my new imac, i just used my macbook's back up and there. my imac isnt slow, but it is way different than my macbook.

please let me know if it is safe to use Migrant assistant.

Just don't use migration assistant when you go to set it up, just set it up as a new mac. Then once your at your new desktop open time machine and pick what you want to restore manually.
