Hello, I hope this is a suitable forum to post this, its a kind of general internet question but i am running mac

How can I be logged in to services like gmail or facebook and do my normal everyday browsing around without 2nd or 3rd party websites know that i am logged in to the first? I want to be logged in on gmail on one tab and on another I want to sign in to youtube without being asked to link accounts. I want to have a tab open where i am logged to my facebook account and click on a "share this on facebook" button on a 3rd party website and just be asked if I want to join facebook at all. This is what I want, to be identified on a tab and anonymous on the other
I found that a way to do this is to use different browsers, one to be logged in and one other for everyday surfing, but this is a bit annoying (i guess thats why tabs were invented in the first place). I really would prefer to have my web wondering around separate from the services google or facebook provide. I like to do my best to be as non-consumist as I can thus I believe I can find what I need to buy on my own which renders the ads purpose useless for me.
Would controlling the cookies work for this matter? Or, sorry if its lame, some kind of ip hiding?
