My WD My Book 3.0 only has one USB 3.0 Micro port. I need two ports. Will a USB hub work with an external hard drive? I already have a USB 2.0 hub, but i need to purchase a USB female to USB 3.0 micro adapter. I wanted to make sure it will work before buying it.

I don't think you can connect the HD to two computer with USB at the same time.
I would like to connect my external to my WD TV and my computer. They will not be accessing the external at the same time.

It's a USB3.0 hard drive, and you want to connect it via USB2.0 hub?

USB3.0 is MUCH faster then USB2.0; at best case, it will operate much slower (USB2.0) speeds. But more then likely you purchased for the speed; so why limit yourself by a USB2.0 HUB?

The hard drive came with a USB3.0 Adaptor to allow you to take advantage of the drive. Use that for the drive; hook up everything else via your old USB ports.
