my main concerns about converting a black iphone 4 to a white one, with a DIY kit are: how legit did it look, overall? how much is total cost?

any information on this would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

It looks nearly legit but I'm pretty certain that it would void the warranty.

a void warranty is not my concern, just cost and legitimacy. anyone seen any success/fail stories??

I've seen a few people post pictures of the ones they did here. I don't think it's worth it, but if you really want a white iPhone 4 it's the only way.

if you search the iPhone Accessories Forum (https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/108/), their are many success DIY stories, as well as many failed attempts.

brave soul for not caring about warranty.

I did the DIY swap and even though I had some challenges (that were easily fixes) Id say it was totally worth it.

It looks great and by doing it yourself you have the parts and tools to swap it back if there is a warranty issue.

ive seen some good swaps...but as others have said, not worth voiding the warranty.
