Well, I returned my iPhone tonight because its been very spotty lately. Barely getting internet and just awful phone reception. That was a replacement phone for one that was having battery troubles.

Well, I just set up my new phone tonight, a week 40 and now I believe I have at least one dead pixel. I am not sure if it is a dead pixel, but there is a black spot on my screen.

I am getting so frustrated lately with the iPhone and Apple I am not sure what to do anymore. Should I bring it back tomorrow and complain?

I had a black/grey spot on my screen and it got replaced.
Most likely dust, but I put it under dead pixel anyway.

Dead pixels look like this

All LCD screens have a "Dead Pixel" policy. It is the amount of pixels the manufacturer considers to be "normal" and wouldn't replace the screen.

For the iPhone is 0 dead pixel and 2 dead pixels for iPad are acceptable.

They have the same policy for computer monitors. it's not anything new.

So, even 1 dead pixel on an iPhone is enough for replacement.

This is a good website to test out dead pixels

How do you know if you have a dead pixel?

If there is blood coming out of the bottom of the phone.
If you see vultures flying over your house.
If you see maggots under the screen.
If the phone smells like rotten meat.
If you get a phone call from 1-800-funeral.

Regardless of that odd chart, you PAID full price for the phone, and you reserve to have a FULLY-functioning perfect phone. Whether it's one dead pixel or a slight indentation, it's a discrepancy and its Apple's job to replace it for you.

The Apple Store will replace your iPhone no questions asked for even one dead pixel. They did it for me. When you find a dead pixel, it's all you can look at. On the other hand, you might want to see if any more show up and wait until right before your year warranty is up. You can look at it like getting a free battery when you get your replacement.

On the other hand, nothing is more annoying than reading an ebook on the Kindle app and always seeing that dead pixel on the white screen, no matter how small it is on the retina display.

Do you have an iPhone 4? If so, then you must have multiple dead pixels to even see it...1 dead pixel on an iPhone 4 would be nearly impossible to see
