So i've had my macbook pro for a few months now. Computer ran fine no hiccups at all.. all of sudden for the past week i am getting kernal panics and i have to do a hard restart.. I am at work so i dont have a report of it to post . happens mostly when my g/f is playing a facebook game or when she trys to play sims 3 ??. after work i will post the report but has anyone have any ideas on what it could be or possable solution??

so after using the search feature since it did not work before i posted my question.... i guess without a crash report there is nto much anyone can do for me right

On past March when I bought my MBP I used to have a lots of Kernel Panics errors as well, I also asked for help on these boards and I was told that most of the time a Kernel Panic means that an internal part of your Mac is malfunctioning, the advise I was provided with was to take the Mac to the Apple Store so a technician from apple would be able to check it out, and indeed the problem was the Logic Board which I got it replaced and since then my MBP has been working perfectly.

So my advice is, if you still have the 1-year warranty take it to an Apple Care Service Center.

Hope it helps, good luck

PS: If you want to check up the crash report go to Apps -> Utilities -> Console -> File -> Open Quickly -> Diagnostic and Usage Information -> User Diagnostic Report (and finally click on the report to see the full log)

here is the crash report hope someone can be able to read it better than i can .....

BSD process name corresponding to current thread: cider

Seems to be related to your graphics card. The process cider is likely related to this:

TransGaming has also produced Cider, a library for Apple–Intel architecture Macintoshes. Instead of being an end-user product, Cider (like Winelib) is a wrapper allowing developers to adapt their games to run natively on Intel Mac OS X without any changes in source code.

Don't know enough to say more. Maybe someone with more expertise can augment/correct this.

My guess would be graphics card overheating--get a temperature monitor to check temps--also might try SMC Fan control--ramp it up when g/f is on your computer.

hmm thanks a bunch i will try that .. seems the fan goes super loud when i put the game in to play...
