I have an iPhone 4 and started using a new radio app (TuneIn Radio). While listing to a radio show the display stays on showing a picture or logo of the radio station or show(using Macally speaker plug-in).

I am concerned that with the screen staying illuminated that there will be a “burn-in” image or damage to pixels.

What say you?

if it happens to LCDs, i don't see why the iphone would be immune to it.

but you'd have to keep the display static for a really long period of time. like 10 hrs + at one go.

Shouldn't be, the burn in was only a real issue with CRT displays. Even when flat screens came out and their was the issue of the backlight dimming that has since been fixed with the use of LED backlighting.

Possibly, but I can't imagine you wouldn't have to go through several battery cycles with the display persistently on before this happened. Also, why kind of dev builds an app where you can't lock the screen and still have it running?

I also have TuneIn Radio and I just press the sleep button on the iPhone to turn the screen off
