When I build my the Distribution version of my application, I get the following warning: Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. (-19011)

I've seen this all over the web dating back to 2008 and the fixes vary from case to case. I've tried all of them, a couple times each as well as deleting my certificates, keys and provisioning profiles, and starting all that from scratch. This is an incredibly tedious process, so I'm not sure what information I can provide here except that I've followed all the steps from Apple to the letter and nothing is changing.

Any ideas of what I might try next. Any of you battled this issue and found a resolution?

One thing apple does recommend is the following:

Select the Target and open the Build Settings Inspector. Confirm you are in the Distribution Configuration.
Delete the Code Signing Identity: iOS Distribution : COMPANYNAME
In the Xcode Build Menu, select Clean all Targets.
Delete any existing build directories in your Xcode project using Finder.
Re-launch Xcode and open your Project.
Re-enter the code-signing identity iOS Distribution : COMPANYNAME in the Target Build Settings Inspector.
Rebuild your Project.

However, the line "Delete the Code Signing Identity: iOS Distribution : COMPANYNAME" is very confusing to me. There's no such thing as *Deleting* this (that I know of), all you can do is set the value to "Don't Code Sign", or am I missing something here?
