Western Digital Portable Hard drive questions...

Hi,
I'm in need of a new portable external hard drive. The western digital ones come with password protection and hardware encryption.

My question is weather you can use the password protection and hardware encryption with the drive if you are using the drive for time machine?

Also, if i get the pc version of the drive and i format it for mac can you still get password protection and hardware encryption?

My goal would be to use the drive for time machine and have it password protected and hardware encrypted.
