iOS zooming camera

iPhone doesn't have a zoom feature. You have to crop in post.
Am I missing something? The iPhone 4 has a zoom. You open the camera app, touch the screen and you will see a slider bar at the bottom of the page. Move the slider to obtain your desired level of zoom.

It's really the same thing as cropping later. Some day it will have real optical zoom.

yup but it's just a digital zoom. if you have any kind of photo processing software you can just crop the picture later + preserve the original

Yea, I see the problem. But check out some of the Casio's. Many have internal optical zoom! There is hope.
