Outlook 2011 OSX and IMAP IDLE

I notice in Outlook 2011, there is an option to enable IMAP idle IF the server supports it. The question I have, does Exchange 2003 STD support it out of the box or does something need to be done on the Exchange server to make it work? I did a quick Google search and it states Exchange 5.5+ supports IMAP Idle but it does not seem to be working (Push Mail in the client).
