Airplay on the cheap

a little late, I would suggest the appleTV2. it's about the same price as the airport express, and has built in optical out put for you amp.. or HDMI.

it's about the same price as the airport express, and in my case (I have both) to get the airport sounding decent, I had to upgrade to the optical cable, and that task wasn't the easiest or cheapest.

also.. I'm not a fan or wireless anything, and the 1gb/s port at the back of my appleTV2 works out very well.

but, if you're on the cheap, I have software that emulates airplay server that runs on my HTPC. that works just as well as the real thing.
