Jailbreak/Unlock Iphone 3G FW 3.0

Hello all,
I have a friend with an iphone 3g FW 3.0, and would like to get it jailbroken and unlocked. Unfortunately, jailbreakme will not work with that FW because it is too old. Im not really sure what my options are right now. I know that ultrasn0w supports the baseband, but what tools are available to go about jailbreaking?

To jailbreak on 3.0 you'd have to use Redsn0w. Here's a guide on how to do so: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4301
