How to automatically connect a bluetooth device?

Hello

I have a bluetooth speaker set which I have successfully paired with my Mac (OS X 10.6.5) and am able to use.

The problem is that every time I start the computer I have to manually connect the speakers, either by pressing the connect button on the speakers or by connecting via the Bluetooth menu in Mac OS.

Is it possible to auto connect the speakers every time I start the computer or wake from sleep?

I've searched all over and keep finding this question but no one has answered it. I have the same problem. Anyone figure out how to automatically direct output audio to bluetooth device if that device is sensed and automatically paired?
