How do I do a clean install of 4.2 via iTunes?

Hi. I'm wondering how you do a clean install of 4.2? I've only had my iPad a short time so not much stuff is on there, but I sync it to itunes last night and now there is a backup on there?

I'm wondering how I just do a clean install without itunes putting my backup onto my iPad after the 4.2 install.

Press the Restore button when you plug your iPad into iTunes. When the software as finished installing, iTunes will ask you if you want to set your device up as anew iPad, or restore from a backup.
