Hi,
i'm going to add a ssd drive as boot disk for my 1st gen MacPro.
I decided to go with the OCZ vertex 2 60gb, 2.5 with an icy 3.5 adapter.
But i've just read on the ocz forum than many users are having problems with these drives in the 1st gen MacPro (no boot, hanging) so they had to put it in an external box.
Anyone here experienced same problems? Seems to affect only 1st gen MP.
As alternative i would buy an OWC instead, but is 20$ more than ocz.

I've got two of those drives, in my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 2.66, works a treat, never had even the tiniest problem I couldn't more highly recommend it. :)

We had a 1,1 Mac Pro booting off of a Vertex 2. It isn't anymore because the drive is now provisioned elsewhere but it was very fast and very reliable.
