i have an ipod touch 3rd generation, and was wondering if there is anyway to upgrade to the ipod touch 4th generation, without re spending the $200 i already used in my original purchase,
any information will be helpful, thanks.

Unless your retailer accepts trade-ins, your only other option would be attempt to sell your existing ipod touch to recoup your cost of investment.

If there is no real compelling reasons to get the 4g, just enjoy your current ipod touch 3g till it dies a natural death before getting a 6 or 7g.

Most likely, there isn't anything you can do. To be honest, why would a reseller take someones used iPod in exchange for a brand new one?

Plus, if you have an 8GB 3rd Gen ... that is nothing really different from the 8Gb 2nd Gen, so that technology is a bit older than you think.

You should try to sell it, but I doubt you'll get more than 100$
