Is this normal? should I give them a name? if I name them, will it affect them in any in the ability to be able to plug into a pc as well? I want to keep everything cross platform.
 
When you format a drive, you're given the chance to name it. If you do not, it will come up as no name (or something along those lines). You can also rename the drives if you so choose. Whether you do or not will not affect its performance or its ability to be used by either platform. Naming your drives just helps in keeping them organized.
