E-mail messages open to the oldest msg first

For some reason my email always opens up to the oldest msg in the account. Under 3.2, it always opened a msg from mid-June and I just updated to 4.2.1 and now it just goes to the oldest msg in the default account.

Anyone seen this behavior before? It used to be that the newest email would be selected (or the last one I had selected)...but not anymore.
