I don't know if its just me or no one knows about this. But if your phone is still on 4.1 you can use redsnow to jailbreak your phone also updating its baseband. This way your phone would be untethered jailbreak and you get the unlock.

I read this from their MIRC channel, is this true? or am I missing something?

EDIT: this is with baseband 5.14.02 and new bootrom
